Three Cocktails for World Gin Day

The phrase “better letter than never” seems to truly define the Cocktails, 365 experience. We have these grand plans of involvement in major events in the cocktail movements of the day and then we promptly get involved with enjoying the event and not writing about it. Specifically, today, we’re talking about World Gin Day.

Don Julio Blanco Part Two (Cocktails): Tequila Mojito

For years, tequila has been relegated to either margarita mix or shots off of supple co-eds breasts. And while we are all for body shots, tequila hasn’t really been given much respect among the cocktail set. Until now that is. Through sheer power of WILL Cocktails, 365 will force you to think of tequila cocktails […]

Cosmic Limeade

Sonic, for my foreign readers, is one of the best fast food chains in the United States. Mainly because of its drink list. You have an almost unending number of flavors and mixtures to choose from (over 160,000 according to Sonic). In fact, their choices are so large, they even put a major marketing campaign around it. Not only that, for a long time the Dodge City Sonic (hometown sonic of Cocktails, 365) had the unique honor of being the busiest Sonic in the world. I’m not sure if we still hold that title, but hey, we’re eager for accolades out in this area of the United States.

ORIGINAL — Kentucky Harvest

October 21, 2011 (Day 206) — Kentucky Harvest After last night’s foray into the creepy and offensive, we’ve decided to take a step back and honor those out there pulling pumpkins out of the field in time for Halloween celebrations! Now, we’ve been hanging on to a bottle of Hiram Walker Pumpkin Spice liqueur for […]

Key Lime Martini #2

August 2, 2011 (Day 127) — Key Lime Martini #2 This is the one that goes without saying. I mean seriously. It’s a key lime liqueur. You knew this one was going to happen. And it was going to happen all of this bitch. Key Lime Martini#2 2 oz Ke Ke Beach Key Lime Liqueur […]

Monarch Pass

July 28, 2011 (Day 122) — Monarch Pass As a kid, my parents knew a couple that owned a rustic little cabin up in the mountains near Colorado Springs. For several years, it became a bit of a family tradition. Amongst those traditions was taking a trip up to the Monarch Pass. For those unfamiliar, […]

Dues ex Machina (PLUS Most Wanted Gin Review)

October 2, 2010 (Day 245) — Dues ex Machina Anyone who has ever paid even the slightest bit of attention to the world of culinary and cocktail arts is familiar with the term “locavore.” For the uninitiated, it’s used to describe a person or restaurant or bar that only uses locally-produced ingredients. Surprisingly, it’s easier […]

Rosario

July 5, 2010 (Day 156) — Rosario This recipe is a personal play off of the Rosarito cocktail which appears in the “Mr. Boston Summer Cocktails” book. It’s summer allrighty. After some gorgeous — albeit rainy — days, today let way for some clear azure skies and a day-late fireworks display in my town. (They […]

Key-Lime Martini

May 6, 2010 (Day 96) — Key-Lime Martini Well, Cinco de Mayo has come and gone. Cervezas have been drunk. Tequila has been slammed — or sipped if you have a really good one. Mexican food was downed and now we’re in the after-fiesta siesta shadow. But! Don’t rest on your laurels or anything. Why? […]

Cinco de Mayo (Part I)

May 3, 2010 (Day 93) — Margarita “Las armas nacionales se han cubierto de gloria.” (English: The national arms have been covered with glory) — Ignacio Zaragoza, 1862 And so, on May 5, 1862, did Mexican forces take victory of the French in the battle of Puebla. While not technically Mexico’s “Independence Day,” it is […]
