Sailor’s Delight

“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning.” – Proverb   It’s long been said that the manner of sky that tucks sailors into bed, as well what greets them in the morning, harkens to the weather they can expect to deal with during the day. 3 Recipes for National Mojito Day

Today is one of the many plethora of holidays on the calendar, because we all know that there are few greater tragedies than an empty calendar square. Lavender Vodka Tonic

The lavender dominates the drink, but is prevented from being overly sweet by the tonic. While sipping, the sage will give you just a little bit more savory from all the sweetness from the lavender syrup.

Rye and Shine

The stronger bite of the rye will take some of that syrup off, and the addition of the fresh lemon juice brings out the bite from the Dewshine. The Angostura bitters (or really any type of bitters you may like) will balance it out and give some extra depth.

Viva Villa

Brilliant in its simplicity – the Viva Villa features tequila front and center with the remaining ingredients playing the Pips to the tequila’s Gladys Knight.

Deep Purple

The acai has a taste very similar to blueberry, and the lemon boosts the sweeter lemonade flavors from the Cruzan.
