February 13, 2010 (Day 14) — Polar Bear
Polar bears are disappearing faster than Britney Spears’ underwear at a paparazzi convention (this cultural reference brought to by 2004).
But just because they’re a rare and endangered animal doesn’t mean you can’t drink one!
That’s right ladies and germs (a little topical ointment humor there), tonight’s concoction is a shot called the Polar Bear. Dang easy, here it is:
- 1 part white creme de cacao
- 1 part peppermint schnapps
The clarity of the schnapps mixes with the creme de cacao which has a bit of an off-white-ishness to it to create a somewhat tinted shot. The nose (if shots can be said to have such things) is rather pungent. But, much to my surprise, the creme de cacao did a killer job lessening the blow of the peppermint schnapps. The two combine are almost overpoweringly sweet, so if you’re not a fan of sweet shots, then I would certainly encourage you to avoid this one. It’s been like drinking a liquid booze-filled peppermint patty.
Definitely good for warming up on a cold winters night.
