Today is Derby Day, which means there’s tons of prerequisite stories about how you should be drinking Mint Juleps by the gallon. While the Mint Julep is a damn fine cocktail (and one of our favorites), there are many other options out there to tickle your Bourbon bone for Derby Day.

Take 1 large tea-spoonful of powdered white sugar, dissolved in a little Seltzer or Apollinaris water. Fill a bar glass full of shaved ice, shake up and strain into a claret glass. Ornament with berries.
