ORIGINAL — Waffle Cone

October 15, 2011 (Day 200) — Waffle Cone

Dag yo. Can you already believe that it’s another 200 days into a second year of unique cocktails every day? Time flies when you’re drinking heavily.

When I was younger, the best part of getting an ice cream cone as a treat wasn’t really os much as the ice cream as it was the waffle cone attached to the bottom of said frozen delight. In fact, I enjoyed the waffle cone so much, apparently I decided to eat the waffle cone off the bottom of an ornament my older brother had made in grade school.

Because I was cool like that.

Now, thankfully, I make enough money that I’m not relegated to eating second-hand waffle cones that have been glued to fabric ball Christmas ornaments.

Even better, now that I’m a gainfully employed adult, I can even DRINK my waffle cones, without having to soak them in milk first.

Waffle Cone

  • 2 oz Monarch Hazelnut Liqueur
  • 1 oz brandy
  • 1 oz creme de cacao
  • .5 oz half and half

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve with a waffle cone chunk garnish.

Cheers!
