Banana Eggnog

December 6, 2010 (Day 310) — Banana Eggnog

Need something non-alcoholic for your little ones (or non-drinking stodgy-ass relatives)? Well not to fret, as the crack team here at Cocktails, 365 (Mark and Jenn), have put our heads together to create a nice little eggnog recipe that is good for the kids and can be easily adjusted to make something super tasty for those of you who enjoy some booze on the end.

Banana Eggnog

3 cups whole milk

1 cup mashed bananas

2 eggs

4 ice cubes

1 tbsp honey

Ginger ale

Combine your bananas, eggs, ice cubes, honey and milk in a blender. Blend for close to 30 seconds. It will get frothy, so watch out. Place a dollop of ice cream in a rocks glass then fill almost to the top with the eggnog. Top with ginger ale and mix gently. If you don’t use the ginger ale, the eggnog is really pretty plain. It almost tastes like banana milk. However, the ice cream and ginger ale manage to really bring out the banana flavor and bring it together.

So you want it a bit more… boozy do you? Don’t worry. We’ve got you taken care of. Just add a 2 oz shot of golden rum on top of the previous recipe and mix well. Just make sure you don’t get the two versions mixed up, or risk jail time.

Cheers!

— Mark
