Worth a dram if only for the uniqueness of it. It stands apart, especially as a single malt American whiskey. It takes several times back to the draw for it to warm on you, but a lovely piece of Americana in liquid form.

There those among the scotch camp who turn their nose up at most blended scotches. However, to do that with the Syndicate 58/6 is to do a disservice to a surprisingly rich and complex scotch.
This variation of the Rusty Nail uses a single malt Islay (we like Ardbeg 10) in place of the recommended blended scotch, giving it a heavier, smokier flavor, and adds just a bit of Tawny port to deepen the sweetness and add a few more layers of flavor.
