This is the official cocktail from the Depot Theater’s December, 2014 production of Blithe Spirit. It’s a take on a classic mulled wine – perfect for your Christmas party.
- 4 750 ml bottles Cabernet Savignon
- 1/2 750 ml bottle of tawny port (we used Cockburns Fine Tawny)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cups apple cider
- Juice from 4 oranges
- Orange zest from 4 oranges
- 1 lemon
- 5 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Grated nutmeg
Combine all the ingredients in a slower cooker and let heat on high for an hour. Reduce to low and it can be kept warm for several hours. Use a ladle to serve the wine in Irish coffee mugs. Be merry! Garnish with an orange wedge.
