While many trends ebb and flow, tequila and its stubborn insistence on high quality offerings in the marketplace means it has become a staple in the finest of bars. Ain’t no silly straw shit around here.
Casa Noble is closely tied with godlike guitarist Santana. It offers ultra premium tequilas in a range of offerings, so we figured we’d run down the main line (blanco, reposado, anejo) to see how they stack up and if you’re just paying extra bucks for Santana’s stamp of approval.
Nose: Beautiful agave aroma right up front. There’s bright crisp citrus bite on the end.
Neat: There’s a stronger earthy flavor than some of the other blanco tequilas we’ve sampled. It grounds it in a nice flavor. There’s a surprising black pepper spcie on the back.
On the Rocks: The sweetness present in the neat becomes more pronounced. That same unique black pepper takes a back seat.
This is a very good blanco tequila that doesn’t rest on the celebrity recognition (Hello, Crystal and/or Jack Daniels!) but actually puts out a high quality product.
