Girard-Perregaux is one of the world’s leading ultra-luxury watch brands.
So, it only really seems to make sense that back in March they decided to offer a companion piece to other major men’s fashion magazines and launched their own website – Mechanics of Style. As they on the site:
“What” we are is simple: Mechanics of Style was created to be one of the world’s leading online men’s luxury resources—beyond a blog, it will serve as a digital gateway to the good life, highlighting all the elements that make a modern gentleman, from bespoke suits and bench-made shoes to travel and culinary pursuits. It will demonstrate affinity with the values of Girard-Perregaux’s watchmaking standards and aesthetics, by emphasizing both the grand and classic and the artisanal and innovative. Mechanics of Style wasn’t launched to replace your favorite magazine; quite to the contrary, it is here to complement it. So if you are a fan of Esquire, The Rake, Monocle or Monsieur —wonderful. It’s my sincere hope that one day MoS and all the above will share and trade ideas on sartorial matters and the pursuit of the good life in general.
Naturally, we were honored when they approached Cocktails, 365 Editor-in-Chief Mark Vierthaler and asked him to be a cocktail contributor for their website.
And what a way to end the year – our first cocktail column appeared this morning!
