Laphroaig Part Three: The Verdict

So, after two weeks of playing around with the powerful smoke of the Laphroaig 10 Year, the question still remains – is it worth putting into your cocktails?

Our answer: a resounding yes.

Laphroaig is an excellent cocktail scotch because it’s outstanding when sipped by itself, but gives a powerful smoke and iodine note that (when mixed properly) gives excellent depth to some classic and modern whiskey cocktails.

Be warned, however, that the smoke is so pronounced that if you don’t mix correctly, you’ll either wind up with a drink that simply tastes like off-brand Laphroaig. It’s a balancing act, and when done properly you can create a whole new level of whiskey cocktails with which to wow your guests and customers.
