Laphroaig Part Two: Smoke and Toddy

As it turns to September, thoughts start to turn to fall. As such, we’re here to set up your arsenal with some toasty cool-weather drinks.

Unfortunately, in our house the change of seasons also means the start of head colds. A book agent once told me her father’s favorite recipe for a head cold was to hang a hat above the bed, then make Hot Toddy after Hot Toddy. As soon as there were two hats, you went to bed.

We think this will help you as well.

  • 1 oz Laphroaig 10 Year Scotch
  • 3/4 oz Galliano
  • 1 dash grenadine syrup
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 2 oz boiling water

Pour the Laphroaig, Galliano, grenadine, and lemon slice into an Irish Coffee mug. Top with boiling hot water and stir.
