Okay, so we’ve spent two weeks with vodka that hails from the frozen country known as Russia. The real question is yet to be answered, however: is this really worth the nigh-on-50-dollar price tag.
Shockingly, the answer is… yes. Now, it’s not lightly that I recommend a $50 vodka. After all, there are plenty of other great vodkas out there for a third of the price. However, there’s something that sets the Russian Standard Gold apart from the others – character. It’s not a low-quality grain alcohol taste, but rather it’s peppery notes that come through in cocktails both sweet and savory. If you want to really make a splash at your next soiree, pick up some of this.
