February 20, 2012 — Gozio Amaretto
Amaretto holds a special place in the hearts of our senior editor Jenn. Just about anything that can be created with amaretto, she’ll drink. That makes our quality of amaretto a big point of pride. So, we’ve heard good about Gozio and at $25 (right on the cusp of our budget booze cut off) it costs less than Disaronno.
Gozio is described in promotional material as such: “Preparation of this fine almond-flavoured liqueur relies on a laborious production methods. With the finest quality of almonds, peach and apricots. The infusion combines ancient european tradition in a refined Italian taste.”
Nose:
Clean, crisp almond scent.
Neat:
Very, very smooth. It’s clean without a bit of syrupy.
Rocks:
Just a bit too smooth.
Cheers!
