February 6, 2012 — Bacardi 1873 Ron Solera
Bacardi Ron Solera was an iteration of Bacardi that we weren’t fully aware of prior to this week. However, while scouring our resources for new, lesser known, Best Buy Boozes, we stumbled across it.
Bacardi themselves describe it as “the original sipping rum.”
It’s been barrel aged, however, it has a more distinct woody flavor than Bacardi Gold or the higher-proof rums.
It has a complex flavor that probably wouldn’t find a huge following among the drink-and-boot Bacardi fans. We like that.
Nose:
Strong oaky scents.
Neat:
Complex woody flavors, not as sweet as some other aged rums.
On the Rocks:
Similar to neat.
Cheers!
