January 20, 2012 (Day 297) — Vesuvius

Mount Vesuvius is a volcano in Italy that is most famous for having destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum in the early ADs.

It’s also what my grandfather used to call me when I was a baby.

The reason is just as gross as you’d imagine.

Anyway, we recently received a shipment from Italian Volcano juices: blood orange, tangerine, lemon juices.

We’ll be mixing up with some of these over the next several days.

• 1.5 oz Sobieski Vodka
• 1 oz Italian Volcano Blood Orange Juice
• 1 dash Volcano Lime Blast
• 1 dash grenadine

Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice. Shake for at least 30 seconds thens train into a cocktail glass.

Nice depth.
