The temptation with a liquor like Wild Turkey is to make a lot of puns. Now, I inherited my affection for puns from my father. I’m pretty sure it’s a hereditary trait, seeings as I share the same affliction with my brothers. We’ve determined it’s not an airborne contagion, as our executive editor Jenn has been with me for the past 8 years and it hasn’t seemed to have been passed along.

So, truthfully, we’re okay with the puns. And don’t you worry none, because they will be coming fast furious this week. You poor, poor souls.

To kick off the pun train, we’ll be creating something… neon.

Cherry Gobbler

• 2 oz Wild Turkey 81
• 1 oz cherry brandy
• .25 oz grenadine
• Mountain Dew to top

Combine the ingredients in a highball glass filled with ice. Push the ice cubes gently to the bottom of the glass to help mix without fizzing over.
