Purely Delicious

December 13, 2011 (Day 259) — Purely Delicious

Creme de menthe, you cagey wench. You’re the menthol cigarette of the booze world.

I’m not really sure what that means, other than to say that the use of creme de menthe can either make or completely destroy a cocktail. It’s all in how it’s used and making sure you’ve got the perfect balance that you need. Oftentimes, that makes me a little wary of digging down and trying to whip something up with it. With the holiday season in full swing, though, it’s getting harder and harder to avoid the obligatory mint-in-a-drink-itis that spreads this time of year.

Christmas is good to the mint industry fat cats.

This recipe is adapted from one that appears on the 360 vodka website.

Purely Delicious

  • 2 oz 360 Vodka
  • 1 oz pineapple syrup
  • .5 oz green creme de menthe
  • .25 oz lime cordial

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice. Shake well and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Serve.

Powerful bit of mint, however the that citrus from the lime seems a bit out of place.

Not a huge fan.

Cheers!
