Moscato Cocktail

November 28, 2011 (Day 244) — Moscato Cocktail

This is kind of a lazy cocktail. But that’s kind of perfect for a Monday night. After all, tonight is the Parade of Lights here at Cocktails, 365 HQ. This is essentially the classic Champagne Cocktail expect we’ve switched out the champagne with the Yellow Tail Moscato.

Moscato Cocktail

• 1 sugar cube
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• Yellow Tail Moscato

Place the sugar cube in the bottom of a champagne glass. Soak with the bitters. Top with chilled Yellow Tail Moscato. Serve.

The powerful sweetness of the mosacto is waylayed by the spice of the bitters. The sugar is excellent if your wine has already started to lose its fizz, as it will take  a hold of all those little bumps and rev the fizz back up. Just sip this, as you don’t want to hammer it down. Enjoy the Christmas lights.
