October 24, 2011 — Monarch Butterscotch Schnapps
We’re hitting up Monarch once more for their liquors. This time, we’re dipping in to their Butterscotch Schnapps.
Now, I have a knee-jerk, Pavlovian response to hearing the words “butterscotch schnapps.”
And it’s an Outkast song that then starts to play on loop.
Nose:
Sweet and buttery. A nice caramel scent.
Neat:
Very sweet. There’s absolutely no burn whatsoever. There’s a strong, sugary flavor. Powerful butterscotch flavor. Not much will be needed to influence the flavor of cocktails this week. However, there is a stronger syrup feeling rather than the schnapps.
On the Rocks:
Again, this is a very, very sweet liqueur. It will need to be prepared with stronger liquors to overcome its sweetness. However, it has a distinct and pleasant butterscotch flavor, and a price point you really can’t beat.
