There are certain artists that mean certain things to certain people. If that’s not vague enough, let’s put it this way…

You come home. You turn on the radio. THAT song comes on. The one that reminds of you them. All the good, and all the bad.

Damien Rice does that for me for Jenn. His first album came out around the time we first started dating, so it’s become forever associated in my mind with those first months and years on her front porch. While the name of the cocktail, which comes from those at Gosling’s, is certainly intended to be more nautical, it has different connotations for me.

Cannonball

• 2 oz Gosling’s Black Seal Rum
• .5 oz Rose’s Lime Cordial
• 2 oz cranberry juice
• 2 oz pineapple juice
• 2 oz orange juice

Combine all the ingredients in a highball glass filled with ice. Top with a maraschino cherry.
