September 22, 2011 (Day 177) — Breaking Brandy
Brandy by its very nature can be a tough liquor to harness. However, once you realize the qualities of it, any entire new world of possibilities opens up, and it becomes an incredibly versatile spirit to mix with. Breaking Brandy takes the burnt wine flavor and takes it up a few notches with some smoke and herbal flavors.
Breaking Brandy
- 2 oz Korbel Brandy
- 1 oz blended scotch whiskey
- .5 oz Gaillano
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Combine the ingredients in a shaker filled with crushed ice and shake well, until a frost forms on the outside of the shaker. Pour into a chilled goblet filled with crushed ice.
Strong, smoky and herbal. Not for the faint of heart, but a perfect fall drink for those that love a little bit of black licorice and whiskey.
Cheers!
