September 11, 2011 (Day 166) — Buttered Pancakes
My pastor once told me that he felt the best way to memorialize the anniversaries of 9/11 is to simply carry on as if the attacks hadn’t changed anything. The strongest message we could send to the world is to show that we are too strong, too resilient, to be shaken. The older I get, the more this makes sense. Ten years later, it’s still important to remember what happened. It’s even more important to keep behaving as we did. So, tonight we’re drinking Buttered Pancakes. Which is a disgusting name for a cocktail.
Although… liquified pancakes… Hmm…
Trust us though. This is actually a pretty damn solid drink.
Buttered Pancakes
- 2 oz Burnett’s Whipped Cream Vodka
- 1 oz orange curacao
- Cola to top
Combine ingredients in a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Stir well and serve with a straw.
Sooth, sweet, with just a little bit of citrus. And yes. Even a little bit buttery.
Cheers!
