September 1, 2011 (Day 156) — Impatient Virgin II
Jenn’s been craving some heavier dessert cocktails lately, so naturally they will come to the front of the cocktail blog — at least for a little bit!
I’ve always enjoyed the name of this cocktail, if only because it implies barely-simmering sexual frustration.
It was also a popular name for planes during World War II. So we’ve got the triple whammy of a good cocktail, boiling sexual energy, and history. What else could you ask for?
Impatient Virgin II
- 2 oz Absolut Vanilia Vodka
- 1 oz butterscotch schnapps
- 1 oz creme de cacao
- 1.5 oz cream
Combine the ingredients in a Boston shaker filled with crushed ice. Shake well until the cocktail is nice a frothy, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
Similar to the Alexander, we realize. But that butterscotch schnapps completely changes the profile of the cocktail. A pleasant caramel flavor now comes up front, followed by the vanilla.
Cheers!
