August 30, 2011 (Day 154) — Fuzzy Screwdriver

End of the week. We just have to wait until the end of the week before we finally get some cooler temps. And after the hottest summer in the history of Dodge City, it will be nice to actually be able to leave the house without feeling like we’ve stepped in to an oven.

Until then, however, we’re helping all you other hot to trots with drink that’s sure to cool you down. Consider it a take off on last night’s cocktail.

Fuzzy Screwdriver

• 2 oz Absolut Vanilia Vodka
• 4 oz fresh orange juice
• Ginger ale to top

Combine all the ingredients in a rocks glass filled with ice and stir well. Serve up with a straw and an orange wheel as a garnish.

This has a bit of heavy sweetness from the vanilla, but the ginger ale and the orange juice brighten it up enough so it can qualify as a summer drink.
