August 10, 2011 (Day 135) — Orxata
Orxata is another pronunciation of horchata. In fact, it’s the root word. Linguistics are fun!
- 2 oz RumChata
- 1 oz creme de cacao
- .5 oz bourbon
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake for at least 30 seconds, strain into a chilled cocktail glas. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon.
Very smooth. Even with just that little bit of bourbon on the back, it adds a nice little bit of wood to the flavor. Balanced, and smooth to drink. Even as a non-bourbon drinker, I enjoyed it. Just make sure you don’t get too much cinnamon on the drink. No one likes to chew their cocktail.
