August 8, 2011 (Day 133) — Kentucky Cream

Just a heads up that most (okay, all) of this week’s cocktails are going to slant to the dessert side. There’s not too much else you can do with a rum-based horchata liqueur. At least, there wasn’t until we got our hands on it. Wait until the mad scientists at Cocktails, 365 have their way with this liqueur!

But baby steps, luvs. Baby steps. We’ll start out with some basics and slowly start making them more complex. You can’t get much simpler than tonight’s drink, which was sipped while watching Mad Men. Pretty good way to feel straight up badass.

Kentucky Cream

  • 2 oz RumChata
  • 1 oz premium bourbon

Combine the ingredients in a rocks glass filled with crushed ice and stir well.

Holy moly delicioso! It’s nice a smooth with that strong, sweet bourbon flavor coming on the front and the rear. Sandwiched in between is that awesome cinnamon goodness of the RumChata.
