July 19, 2011 (Day 113) — Godson

The Godfather is an excellent cocktail that mixes scotch with Amaretto to give you a brusque but sweet cocktail.

This is a personal variation of the classic.


  • 2 oz Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • 2 oz Blended Scotch
  • 1 oz Amaretto

Combine the ingredients in a rocks glass filled with crushed ice and serve.

God bless multi-layered drinks. The first taste is the smoke of the scotch (we used Robert Burns). Make sure you’re using a good solid blended scotch. Right on its heels is the cinnamon of the Fireball with its pleasant bite, tempered just slightly by the almond sweetness of the amaretto on the end. A complex drink that blends together in the glass for one hell of a great cocktail.
