May 30, 2011 — Tito’s Vodka
This week’s featured Best Buy Booze is Tito’s Vodka, out of Austin, TX.
We became acquainted with Tito’s Vodka the last time we were in Austin, which was for SXSW 2011 this past March. They happened to be in a shared tent with The Macallan. So we’re somewhat familiar with them.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to visit the distillery while I was down there, but that doesn’t mean it’s ever too late you introduce yourself to an old friend.
Nose:
Strong, clean scent of alcohol. No lingering after whiffs, which is promising.
Neat:
Very, very clean and smooth. There’s just enough of a burn on the end that you expect from any sort of alcohol, but that is almost just a little bit too smooth for its own good. And at less than $20 average price point, this is one solid purchase.
On the Rocks:
Once again, nice and smooth. There aren’t many vodkas that I could drink by themselves, but Tito’s is one I would be willing to make an exception for.
Verdict:
We’d rate this an A+. Very smooth, very crisp at a great price. You really can’t beat that.
We’re really looking forward to making some cocktails with this.
