Pineapple Express is the name of a stoner buddy comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.

It’s also the name of tonight’s drink.

And no. It doesn’t contain any pot.

We’re about to blow your mind. Here’s a drink that has a bit of a pineapple taste. Nothing too unusual. But here’s the kicker: there’s no pineapple in the drink.

Here’s where we’re going to blow your mind.

There’s a little herb called salvia elegans, or as it’s more commonly known, pineapple sage. You should be able to track down your own plants to plant at any area greenhouse or superstore (we picked ours up at a local landscaping business). Way tasty.

The leaves have a very distinctive pineapple scent that can be properly harnessed into a delicious cocktail.

Pineapple Express

• .25 oz simple syrup
• 2 oz Spiced Jack No. 94
• 4 leaves pineapple sage
• Tonic water

Muddle the leaves with the simple syrup at the bottom of a rocks glass. Fill with crushed ice and top with tonic water. Top with rum and stir well.

It’s nice and light, with just a hint of pineapple on the back end.
