ORIGINAL — Brown Sugar

April 22, 2011 (Day 25) — Brown Sugar

Just case you’re still trying to drive those cobwebs out of your head in time for Easter weekend, and the toddy last night didn’t do the trick, here’s an original hot cocktail that has a heavier, sweeter taste than the traditional toddy.  This actually ends up tasting like a hot, liquid cookie. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Brown Sugar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 drops vanilla extra

2 oz Jim Beam Bourbon

1 cinnamon stick

1 clove

4 oz hot water

Place the brown sugar in the bottom of an Irish Coffee mug. Drop the vanilla on the top and let soak in, then pour in the bourbon. Use in the cinnamon stick to stir the ingredients together. Leave the cinnamon stick in the cup and top with hot water and clove.

Smooth and sweet, like my brown corduroy pants.

Cheers!
