April 12, 20110 (Day 16) — Bowling Green
Ahhh, Bowling Green Park.
From Wikipedia:
Bowling Green is a small public park in Lower Manhattan at the foot of Broadway next to the site of the original Dutch fort of New Amsterdam. Built in 1733, originally including a bowling green, it is the oldest public park in New York City and is surrounded by its original 18th century fence. At its northern end is the Charging Bull sculpture. Bowling Green Fence and Park is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Tonight’s cocktail is a take off the New Amsterdam Gramercy cocktail, which uses cranberry juice.
Bowling Green
- 2 oz New Amsterdam Gin
- .75 oz melon liqueur
- 2 oz orange juice
- 2 oz pineapple juice
- 1 lime wedge
Mix all ingredients and serve on the rocks. Garnish with a lime wedge.
The Bowling Green is a very nice summery drink. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough. Very refreshing and bright.
Cheers!
