April 9, 2011 (Day 13) — Tuxedo
I’m a fan of the tuxedo. It’s slick and an eye-catching catch-all for any formal dinner or event that may come up. And if you’re like every single other male in the United States and Britain, you like to pretend that you’re James Bond.
We’ll also settle the debate once and for all — Sean Connery is the best James Bond of all time. No questions ask. Debate over.
I’ll make this cocktail, review it, and then start running around my house making “pew pew” noises. Now hopefully I can just convince my wife to wear a skimpy outfit and let me call her Dr. Holly Goodhead.
I’ve already got the Bond heavy-drinking thing down pat. I tired to rig my 1999 Toyota Camry with gun turrets, but I was rather curtly informed by the sate police that car-mounted guns aren’t allowed by state law. Or national law, either, apparently.
Fine. I can still have a tuxedo though. They can’t take that away from me.
Tuxedo
- 2 oz. Boru vodka
- 1.5 oz. dry vermouth
- .5 oz. Maraschino liqueur
- 3 dashes Peach Bitters
Combine ingredients in a shaker over ice. Mix well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
There’s a very pleasant burn on this drink.
You get hints of the peach bitters and the maraschino
Dry vermouth almost unnoticeable. A solid martini.
Cheers!
