March 31, 2011 (Day 4) — Ink Street
I’m back on Ink Street.
As I’m buckling down and working on some new projects at work, I’m also buckling down and working on getting some book proposals out the door. Once again, my fingertips are stained with ink. The life of a writer. Even dusted off my old typewriter so it could look all dignified.
Ink Street
.5 oz rye whiskey
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz orange juice
Combine the ingredients in a Boston shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.
A good, sour burst on a cool spring evening. Cools off, but also gives a nice lip-puckering sourness. The rye seems almost incidental in this cocktail.
