January 11, 2011 (Day 346) — Swinging Safari

I was impressed with the taste of the Amarula the other day, so I figured it was time to try something else out. It was -20 wind chill today in Kansas, so why not pretend we’re somewhere much warmer? How about Africa. And if not Africa, we could pretend we’re in a production of “Lion King” where the HVAC got busted and can’t be turned down.

I don't know what the hell this is, but screw it. It's a photo.

This one seems like it would go very well together, so I’m not too concerned about making a bomb this evening before heading in to rehearsal.

Swinging Safari

2 oz Amarula

1.5 oz orange liqueur

1 oz vodka

Combine all of your ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with three coffee beans.

Quite excellent, if not just a bit too sweet for my tastes. I would dig this as a holiday, or occasional drink. Jenn, on the other hand, loved it.
