London Lampoon

January 5, 2010 (Day 340) — London Lampoon

So, I’m back up in Kearney, Neb. this week for a full-staff meeting for work. This is good news for me, because I’m nearby Venue, which I reviewed in an earlier post. Their food is excellent, and their bartender is willing to stretch herself and create tasty tipples.

This time, I happened to enjoy their portabello mushroom pizza and another cocktail which (I think) is unique to the Venue restaurant: The London Lampoon.

London Lampoon

2 oz vodka

1 oz Pimm’s

1 oz triple sec

Dash of soda water

Dash of lemon-lime soda

Mix together in a rocks glass and serve up.

Very good actually! It has a nice, light flavor from the vodka, Pimm’s and triple sec. The bubbliness of the sodas is equally pleasant. More of a spring or fall drink, I would say though. Not really fitting for a cold winter’s night in central Nebraska. Very good nonetheless. Be sure and try one if you’re ever at Venue in Kearney or Lincoln.

Cheers!
