December 29, 2010 (Day 333) — Annex Theater Champagne Cocktail
Only a few more days until New Years Eve! Either if you’re hosting your own New Years party, or spending it out on the town, you’ll need a couple classy drinks up your sleeve to wow those you’re hanging out. Even if you’re spending a quiet evening at home (which isn’t always a bad idea), you’ll need something classy and simple to mix up. The next couple of days we’ll be taking you on a journey in celebration of the New Years!
Annex Theater Champagne Cocktail
1 sugar cube
1 dash bitters
5 fluid ounces sparkling wine
Place the sugar cube into a Champagne flute, and drop the bitters onto the sugar. Fill the flute with Champagne, and serve. Do not stir. (Original recipe found here).
Very nice. I recommend using a sweeter champagne for this drink, as the drier ones don’t really play up the taste of the bitters as much. Very tasty and simple!
Cheers!
