Bourbon Furnace

December 17, 2010 (Day 321) — Bourbon Furnace

It’s Friday. You want to go out for the evening, but there’s a cold wind blowing. Snow is dusting the ground, and icy breaths are whirling in the air. You need something to warm the cockles of your heart before you brave the cold. Something to gird your loins agains the chill. Why not cook up one of these quick little warmers to help you get out the door. Just don’t drink and drive. Seriously.

No joke there, just… seriously. Don’t drink and drive. I really can’t drive that home enough.

Bourbon Furnace

6 oz apple cider

3 whole cloves

2 oz bourbon

1 stick cinnamon

Microwave the apple cider, cloves and cinnamon until hot. Pour in your bourbon and mix. Serve up while still steaming-hot.

Perfectly warming. Don’t microwave the bourbon, because one of the harshest tastes you can ever get is burnt liquor. Ugh.

Cheers!
