November 8, 2010 (Day 282) — Peachy Palmer
This one is going to be a quick update because I’m dragging a bit tonight. I’m up in Ainsworth, NE tonight for work. One of my coworkers and his wife took me out to dinner at the Golden Steer, a steakhouse that happened to be right next to the hotel I was staying at. I can easily say that small town food really is some of the best. I had a roast melt sandwich, which was out of this world. The sauteed mushrooms were pretty great too.
My hosts were on a first-name basis with the wait staff, which made it a enjoyable experience as well. Kyle, the bartender, knew his liquors, as we ended up taking about 15 minutes discussing single-malt scotches and the upsides and downsides of flavored vodkas. He suggested using some of the Firefly Peach Tea Vodka and lemonade to make a Peachy Palmer.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the presence of mind to shoot a photo of the drink, so you’ll have to believe me when I describe it as “looking like and Arnold Palmer.”
Peachy Palmer
3 oz Firefly Peach Tea Vodka
Lemonade to top
Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour in your vodka, top with lemonade, and stir.
Cheers!
