November 5, 2010 (Day 279) — Chocolate-Dipped Almond
So, I’ve had this interesting little can sitting in my bar for the past odd month or so.
It’s called CREAM — and it’s booze-infused whipped cream.
I picked up a bottle simply for the spectacle. After all, alcoholic whipped cream seemed a bit like a hokey hook to sell a mediocre product. But, as a semi-professional booze writer, it’s my job to throw myself on these potential grenades. Besides, being a man, my mind automatically goes to… WAYS… the whipped cream could be used. Because I’m a filthy, disgusting human being.
I’ll tell you I was pretty surprised with the alcoholic whipped cream. It has a pretty solid flavor, with a strong grain alcohol flavor on the end of it. We got the chocolate flavor. A very artificial chocolate flavor, but that’s not always a bad thing. Tastes really good on brownies, we’ll tell you that. I think it has the potential to be good on top o some warmer cocktails.
So, let’s try it!
Chocolate-Dipped Almond
2 oz amaretto
5 oz hot chocolate
Alcoholic whipped cream
In a pre-warmed Irish Coffee glass, build your cocktail. Stir well, then top with your alcoholic whipped cream.
Nice and warming. Very sweet, which is to be expected. A good winter or cold fall night warmer.
Cheers!
