October 23, 2010 (Day 266) — Wicked
“No one mourns the Wicked/No one cries “They won’t return!”/No one lays a lily on their grave/The good man scorns the Wicked!” — Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz
Chugging along with the Halloween train! Tonight, I’m also indulging my equally grand theater obsessions.
This recipe is a bit original, a bit of a play off the Halloween drink “Wicked Sky” which uses pineapple juice instead of apple cider. However, knowing the smokiness of the scotch, I thought apple might play off the flavors a bit better.
Wicked
1 oz. scotch
1 1/2 oz. Midori (or melon liqueur)
Apple Cider
Pour the scotch and Midori into a highball glass filled with ice. Stir well, then top with the cider.
It may have a sickly off-green color…
But, it’s quite tasty. Another bit of bizarre — a scotch-based drink mixed with melon and apple cider makes something very autumnal and tasty.
Cheers!
