October 22, 2010 (Day 265) — Satan’s Whiskers

While not traditionally a “Halloween” drink, there’s enough red devils and demons traipsing around the streets on All Hallows Eve that the Satan’s Whiskers seems like a good drink to include our bevy of Halloween cocktails.

Satan’s Whiskers

.5 oz sweet vermouth

.5 oz dry vermouth

.5 oz gin

.5 oz orange juice

.5 orange liqueur

1 dash orange bitters

Pour all your ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir well and strain into cocktail glass.

Like most classic cocktails, it’s got a nice kick to it. Pretty well balanced despite the seemingly strange ingredient. I enjoy it. Perhaps a bit obtuse for massive party pleasure however.
