October 19, 2010 (Day 262) — Hauntini
Halloween is my favorite holiday. Hands down. Ever since I was a little kid I loved Halloween. Being able to dress up in costumers, pretend you’re someone else for just a little bit of time. Not to mention candy. My parents never kept candy in the house, so Halloween was as if some beatific candy god had smiled down upon our house and bestowed upon us his blessings.
So, assuming I’m able to actually stay on task for the rest of the week leading up to Halloween, I’ll be helping you plan out your Halloween cocktails! We’ll feature a new one each evening! Hurrah! Plus, on top of the “Nightmare Before Christmas” soundtrack playing, this will help me stay in the mood for Halloween. Huzzah!
Hauntini
2 oz vodka
1 oz lemon-lime soda
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz sour mix
1 oz grenadine
Splash of blue curaçao
Shake all ingredients over ice, strain into a martini glass.
Hyper sweet. Good purple flavor, so it’s very fitting for Halloween. Tastes similar to Trashcan Punch, for those who’ve had drunken college parties. An odd mix of flavors that comes together in something that’s altogether not awful, but not outstandingly good. Good if you like super sweet drinks, not so much if you want a better balanced, not so over-the-top drink.
Cheers!
