Hard Whiskey

October 7, 2010 (Day 250) — Hard Whiskey

After a lot of hard work and late nights, the local production of “Nobody’s Perfect” by Simon Williams is almost ready to premier. My wife, who happens to be amazing and have the female lead, has been hunkering down lately and putting her game face on for a high-quality run. A tradition in our local theater has been something called “Company Night.” It would be similar to previews in bigger markets. It’s a dry run when the actors finally get a chance to learn how to handle a live audience, before the paying customers show up.

Since we’re on a tight schedule this evening, we’ve got a quick, fall drink with a quick review before we head out to Company Night. I’ve got one can left of the Strongbow Cider so I figured it’s about time for another fall cider drink. And we’ll made it easy.

Hard Whiskey

2 oz Canadian whiskey

1 can hard cider

In a chilled pint glass filled with ice, pour your whiskey and cider. Stir gently then serve.

The whiskey gives a nice sweetness on the end of the bite. A good, easy, simple and solid fall cocktail. We’re off to the theater!

Cheers!
