September 8, 2010 (Day 221) — The Simple One
It’s fall-like summer day. Or, comparably, a summer-like fall day. We’ve got the mix of heat and cool that’s so standard around this time of year in the good of C of D. So, let’s make an iced coffee based drink, shall we? It’s got the lovely coffee flavor for fall, but the coolness of ice for the summer. Boom. I’m a genius.
Of course, it’s hard to make a coffee cocktail without using Bailey’s — or some sort of Irish cream — so let’s get that cracked open.
The Simple One
1.5 oz Bailey’s
1 oz brandy-based orange liqueur (Grand Monarch)
3 oz strong, cold coffee
Fill an Irish coffee mug with ice, then top with your Irish cream, liqueur and coffee. Stir until well mixed. Serve. Clear why it’s called the Simple One, eh?
This is very delicious and very easy to make. It truly tastes like those chocolate oranges you get around Christmas time.
Or, as Jenn put it “It’s the junior orange ball smash things!”
Cheers!
