Irish Buck

September 7, 2010 (Day 220) — Irish Buck

Right now I’m sitting at my dining room table. A Hiyao Miyazaki movie is playing on the television (Porko Rosso to be exact), locusts are creaking through open windows and I’m racking my brain to come up with the perfect design for the local theater.

It’s a perfect night for some Irish whiskey, the thinking man’s base spirit. I wanted something a little bit smokey and a little bit light. Bucks are always a great mix of bright and dark. Let’s make one.

Irish Buck

2 oz Bushmills Irish Whiskey

1/4 oz fresh lime juice

2 oz ginger ale

Fits the bill perfectly. The beautiful flavor of the Irish whiskey is still underneath the bright flavors of the lime and ginger ale.

Cheers!
