Earthquake

August 24, 2010 (Day 207) — Earthquake

I decided to sit down and try to finish “The Devil in the White City” by Erik Larson. I started reading it shortly before the show began, but now that the show is finished I actually have some time to sit down and do some recreational reading. Not only that, it also means I should be able to actually get back to the website, with some very cool opportunities coming up for us.

So, for this Wednesday we’re going to do something a little bit different and make a scotch cocktail. Not only that, a scotch cocktail with gin and anise to make a fascinating swirl of tastes and flavors.

Makes me thirsty!

Earthquake

1.5 oz gin

1.5 oz blended scotch

1.5 oz Pernod

Combine the ingredients in a chilled rocks glass filled with ice and stir well. Serve up garnished with a swizzle stick.

An interesting, smoky spicy mix with the ever-present on the anise flavor on the end. Strange enough, but still quite delicious.

Cheers!
