Easter Drinks: Part One

March 30, 2010 (Day 59) — Madras

It’s Holy Week, for the Christian among us, and Passover for the Jewish. For anyone else, it’s just another week. But, what better way to celebrate a holy week than by drinking? I can’t think of any.

So, to kick off (a day late) the celebrations, we’ll go with the Madras, a spring-themed drink!

4 oz vodka

2 oz cranberry juice

2 oz orange juice

Pour together into a highball glass filled with ice and mix.

Fruity!

It’s a very inoffensive drink. I tend to like drinks that will give me a swift kick in the jaw with their flavor. This one is simply a meek tap on the chin between friends. Now, it’s certainly not bad. Not at all. In fact, it’s pretty good. It’s just very… underwhelming. Jenn added some mint to hers, but it really didn’t make that big of an impact.

If you want a good, low-key introduction into cocktails, this would be a great place to start.

Cheers!
