Frostini

February 11, 2010 (Day 12) — Frostini

It’s eventual. With all the cocktails out there, and my limited resources in small-town America, I had to come across a foofy drink eventually. And… truth be told… between you and me (We’re friends right?) … I occasionally enjoy a foofy drink to even out all the manly scotch I take down in a year.

God, I love Google image search.

Plus, Jenn was starting to get sick of all the bourbon-based drinks I’d been making lately. And, since she’s wrapped up in this year-long experiment right along with me, I figured I should toss a few drinks her way sometime. Seriously, it’s got nothing to do with the fact that I like foofy drinks… I mean… that’s simply insane! To think that I would like certain kinds of drinks…

You add two more crazy straws to that bastard, and I’m there!

It’s the coffee! Yes! That’s it! I reallly like coffee. So, tonight’s drink was the perfect mix of foofy and coffee. Plus, I found another use for that damn peppermint schnapps. Which, by the way, I’m convinced is reproducing like rabbits in the night. That level just seems to be maintaining. But enough asides! May I introduce… THE FROSTINI!!!

Good can only come of this. Starbucks? Booze?         Starbucks booze? Hells. Yes.

Keep it simple. That’s my motto:

  • 2 oz Starbuck’s Cream liqueur
  • 2 oz Starbuck’s Coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 oz peppermint schnapps

Pour booze into cocktail shaker, shake well until chilled, pour into martini glass. Garnish with a mint leaf. If you have one on hand… Which I didn’t… Sorry…

Tadaaaaa!!!!!

Man is that good. The two liqueurs are crazy smooth and that peppermint schnapps gives it a nice kick to burn some of that mellowness of the creamy liqueurs. You’ve got that killer coffee taste with a bit of a choclate afterntaste. It reminds me of a nice, cool, iced coffee with some mint syrup in it.

Jenn sums it up best: “It’s yummy.”

Do it.
