December 24, 2010 (Day 328) — Candy Cane
It’s Christmas Eve! Tonight, you will be visited by three spirits!
My personal favorite interpretation.
If you’re anything like me (and let’s face it, if you’re reading the Website by a guy who creates a new drink a day, you probably are) then you don’t really have candy canes hanging from your tree. We have our usual ornaments and lights, but anything even remotely edible is a big no no, considering we have two dogs.
That doesn’t mean I’m not fond of the phallic little candies. So, let’s try and replicate them in a glass, shall we?
Candy Cane
2 oz peppermint schnapps
2 oz creme de cacao
1 oz Grenadine
1 oz half and half
splash of 7-up or club soda
Does it taste like a candy cane? Indeed it does! Like… a lot. A very festive, bright pink hue accompanies the drink.
